Jellystone Hill Country
Ohhh Yogi, it is no secret that we have a special place in our hearts for the old bear. Jellystone Hill Country in Canyon Lake is the park that started it all for us. This was our first full-time park and the park that made us fall in love with this life. This is a beautiful park all year around. There are activities all year around for the kids and a few for the adults. The staff here is amazing! They are so sweet and always quick to help.
Let's talk spaces, you have several options for spaces. Most of them are shaded or at least partial shade. There are a LOT of trees in this park. The spaces are all decent size and most of them are fairly easy to maneuver. With all the trees, I don't recommend coming in after dark, but then again I never recommend coming in after dark. The base level spots are gravel with all the red carpet spots concrete.
You have several cabin options including large family options. Check the map for location before booking.
This is a SUPER bike friendly park! We love being able to ride our bikes and this park is perfect. You can get anywhere in the park on foot and it doesn't take 5 days! There are a few little hills but nothing the littles can't handle.
Now for the fun stuff!! There is a water park open from spring break to the first of September on the weekends. It is open during the week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It has giant slides for the big kids, little slides for the littles, a splash pad area, and 2 actual pools. This is where the kids literally LIVED the entire time. During the off season there is an indoor pool to keep everyone entertained. There is more than just water! Yogi has packed this park with two playgrounds, a Jumping Pillow, Gaga Ball, an 9 hole put-put course, laser tag, arcade, basketball court, sand volleyball, gem mining, disc golf, hiking trails, horse-shoes, Hey-Hey Rides, and there is always something happening at Hill Country Hall. There is so much to do, no one says bored while at Jellystone! As the kids will tell you the Jumping Pillow is their favorite, followed by volleyball.
The staff does an incredible job with activities. Even during the off-season they have events during the week for the kiddos. Hill Country Hall is the place to be! They do crafts, face painting, bear-e-oke, candy bar bingo, movies, and so much more!
For the basics, this is a full hookup park and we haven't had any issues. Most of the spots are pretty flat so leveling is easy (for my non-auto-level people). They have 2 bathhouses that are always very clean. Laundry is on site but there aren't very many units so be sure to plan ahead. There is a dog park, but it is a little small for the size of the park.
What is around the park? Canyon Lake Dam, Tye Preston Library, Guadalupe River, Whitewater Amphitheatre and so much more!! You are a short drive to New Braunfels or San Antonio for even more sites to see!
To sum it all up, this is an amazing park! I have zero complaints about anything here at Jellystone and we will definitely be back!!
